This interactive 3 hour-session will provide an intersectional framework for advocacy working
with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) sexual assault survivors with disabilities and
BIPOC Deaf survivors. Presenter will provide an overview of disability concepts and Deaf
culture. Further analysis will include an emphasis on racial equity and overall intersectionality.
Presenter will discuss the unique barriers faced by BIPOC sexual assault survivors with
disabilities and BIPOC Deaf individuals and will examine a framework for effectively responding
to these obstacles. Presenter will utilize videos, lecture, and poll questions to address these
issues.
